So ,the question is, What does winter mean to me? Here in the Midwest, it means cold and snowy. That was never truer, than last February. We got hit with a winter storm, where is snowed for 24 hrs straight. The total snowfall was somewhere just below 30 inches in that 24 hr period. The storm shut down one of our major expressways, with over 1,500 cars stuck overnight.

I have lived here all my life and I am still not a fan of the cold or snow. For me, I only want snow on Christmas day.

In this layout, I used a photo I took the morning after the big snow storm. You can't even see my front porch. It took my DH hours to shovel us out. So for me, winter is cold, snowy and messy. I am truly a warm weather girl.

Brrrr...my thoughts on winter!

Here in Ontario when it gets down to -40 degrees, there are times when I just cannot express how welcome spring time will be. That being said, as the years go by, I do try and appreciate winter for what it is and the special activities it brings. If anything, it makes me appreciate summer that much more!
One thing is for sure... winter themed projects are my favourite to scrap! I love all the snowflakes, the glitter, the cool colour schemes and the adorable woodland creatures that grace our pages... so lovely!
Here I've created some winter themed cards. The charm to these cards is in the sponging of my edges and the faux-stitching I've done with my white pen. Keep warm this winter!

Winter Wonder

I Really do enjoy the winter time.
The photos are of a snowman my Son made and the other is of ice crystals that formed on a tree one very cold morning.

Hope you are enjoying your winter.

Jenifer's Winter Feelings

I am not  a huge fan of winter, at all. Although I live in the North, I was born and raised in the South and do believe I will always be a Southern girl at heart.....you can take the girl outta the South but you can't take the Southern Roots outta the girl I like to say, lol. Haha and us southern people were not bred to adapt well in cold temps.  However with that being said I do love to look out of my windows after a beautiful snowfall. Everything is so white, crisp and clean looking. I love the look of the trees bogged down in sparkly ice crystals that shine brightly in the sunlight. These things are beautiful to me from the inside ONLY, lol......I shiver at the thought of having to go outdoors in that kind of weather, but being a wife and mother I can only protest the outdoors for so long even in the winter, lol they all love it and are bound and determined to get outside and play in it!

Below is a layout I created during one of my rare winter outtings, lol. Can you see the fake smile in my eyes, lol....I just wasn't feeling it it, lol the fun that is....actually all I could feel was bitter cold.

(As usual I have added the above journaling on the back side of my layout)
The paper is from Bo Bunny's Blitzen collection, and I just embellished my layout with a mixture of handmade flowers, snowflakes and a few doilies.

I hope you have enjoyed my page, looking forward to seeing your take on this challenge.

A New Year -- Kristin

Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming year, lots of fun things planned.

For my New Year's inspired layout I picked out some bright papers and contrasted them against a stark white background. I included four pictures I've taken of myself so far this year.

Thanks so much for looking.

Sorry for posting late, was as bit busy yesterday.....not a good start with the new year!
My New Year inspiration is to do a project 365. I will try to blog/scrap/photograph 365 days in 2012 with the little things that make you happy, sad, jolly and so on!
As this project just started, I didn't make a layout today, but just a logo to start my project and to use it in my layouts, blog and facebook page.

A "Mini Me Album"

New Years is so often focused around resolutions and understandably so. I, however, don't feel it necessary to put pressure on myself; I prefer to reflect and think deeply about the things in my life I love, I would like to improve, I would like to change. Mostly, I focus on the positive and if you really get going, and start putting stuff down on paper, you can come up with an enormously inspiring list about yourself.
I turned 25 this year and made an album that was essentially a creative compilation of all these things. It has been a work in progress as I am constantly coming up with things to add.
I love mini albums because you can get truly creative...and really, who isn't love with mini versions of scrap materials?? They're adorable!
I hope that you can use scrapping to inspire yourself this January- or at any other time of year. All the best in 2012!

New Year Inspiration... Honey Bee.

Happy New Year Everyone....

Wishing you all that you desire in this coming year.

I created this layout to remind me that I love what I do for a living. I am so very lucky to be able to make a living with my art. Which leads me to working most all the time. I am not much of a resolution kind of person. However, I will be making more of an effort to keep a routine.

Something like this.

5:30 am Studio Time
8:15 am Say goodbye to my Husband and Son
9:00 am Emails, Proposals and more studio time
12:00 pm Lunch
1:00 pm Studio and errands
3:00 pm Workout
4:30 Mom hat on.

Let us know what your endeavors are....
Warmly and Kindly-
Sarinda
