I love picnics.......

In our family we love to travel. When we have the opportunity we take on flights, but since we have Caesar, we take trips with our caravan around Europe. On our trips we love to picnic. If we for instance are travelling in France we ofte find a marketplace and buy some redwine, cheese, sausages, baguettes and fruits and sit by a riverbank having lunch.
YUMMY.... I LOVE IT!

I made this layout with a photo from a picnic in a beautiful area with a lot of lakes near Silkeborg here in Denmark.

A homemade tree decorated with some mini-Prima flowers and pearls

So Pozible

Hey Everyone;

How are you?
Im back with another layout and
Its titled "So Pozible.."
Why I spelt "possible" this way?
coz My fave thickers are running out of the letters "s"
hehe.. :)
But yeah..it sounds the same rite..so its ok.

Journaling Reads:
So pozible
If I tell myself I could
If I dream a little dream
If I work it a little bit
If I trust myself to do it
If I could discover a whole new knowledge
Everything you see here is by American Craft.
I was inspired by this sketch at Studio Calico.
Till then..take care.. :)

Snap a Pic

A layout of me doing what I love to do - take pictures and record memories, especially with my SLR!
What other activities do you love to do that you can scrap about?

This photo was taken of me on vacation, snapping away with my Canon Rebel XS a couple of years ago. I have since upgraded to the T2i and am very happy!

Have a great day!

Hello Friends!

I have a passion for Victorian style.
The Victorian Era was a time of flair, imagination and innovation.  I get inspiration from the Victorian "Queen Anne" architecture.  The architecture from that time period is ornamented with many ornate, fanciful details and has much character.  Victorian decor is romantic, ornate and excessive which I love!  I created the Victorian inspired page by using "Pink Paislee" papers from their Butterfly Collection.  The majority of supplies can be purchased at the "Flying Unicorn"

Have a great day!

Music.....

There is no doubt, - I LOVE music. I listen to many different kinds of music but I must admit I prefer pop music.

Right now I mostly listen to Robbie Williams, Michael Jackson and James Blunt but next month it easily can be something totally different. I am sure it would be fun for my children and grandchildren to look in my Book Of Me and find out what I was listening to in May 2011.

What du you prefer to listen to?

Kirsten

My lovely cats

Todays layout, it's about our beloved cats who sadly no longer are with us.
Ever since my husband and I moved in together, we always had cats around us, but a few years ago, we unfortunately got allergic and had to give them away.

Our first cat was named Tyson, he was more like a dog. He followed us every where and when you throw something ahead, he run for it, picked it up and gave it to us.

Our second cat was named Charlie, a really calm and cozy cat, just like the cat Garfield.
They really liked each other and always follow each other and slept near each other.

Here is my layout:

Do you have any pets?

Have a nice day!

A Family Portrait

Hello All....

I have been taking a mixed media art class and this is an abstract portrait of my family. I wanted to share the experience as well the out come of a pretty fast and furious challenge.

The Challenge here was that we had 10 minutes to come up with an idea and complete the work. Using only what we brought with us.... from our bags and cars.

I would like challenge you to create some of your Lay Outs this way. Using only your scraps and give yourself 10 to 20 minutes to create a page.

I have used map paper from all the places we were born and pleated the edges to create a pillow or 3D.

Then I have drawn a tent type image and used watercolor to fill in. Then collage some.

I found that it was so freeing to create with the voice in my head. Some pages are of course better than others... And it is so worth it in the end to try another way of creating.

Warmly-

A MOTHER'S DUTY

There is a story behind this layout.  I was in a panic because I could not find any photo's of me or my mom doing chores or duties.  My husband suggested going to an amusement park for Mother's Day.  While walking through the park a mother swan was arranging her nest.  I thought.......GREAT!  She is doing "A Mother's Duty".  I took many, many photo's of her arranging her nest and I also have close-up's of her checking the egg.  Thank god for Walmart 1 hour photo! What a great Mother's Day!

ENJOY!

Celebrating mothers day continues

This layout is about my children, my love for them. As a mom a wish them all the best in their life. I would like to give them the tools to live their life fully, to give them air under their wings so they can fly as high as possible. Thats my duty as a mom to give them faith of their self, that they can be anything and that nothing is impossible.

Have a nice day!

Celebrating Mother's day...

Hi, Kirsten here.

As we are celebrating Mother's day I made this layout with a photo of my wonderful mother. She passed away many years ago, and sadly I only have very few photos of her.

I remember her as a very loving and caring mom. My parents had a grocery store and in between she took care of the family she was working in the store. My parents was always there for us as we always could find them in the store if we needed them. They gave me a wonderful childhood.

Hugs,
Kirsten

Grandmother, Mother, Daughter, Granddaughter

Today I want to share my take on the challenge. I completed a layout using this special 4-generation photo because I know that Liliane may not remember her Grandma GG. My daughter was just 6 weeks old when the photo was taken. I treasure this picture because it shows a sequence of women in my life! Yay for Mothers!! I hope you all have a lovely Mother's day this weekend for those of you celebrating Mother's day in May.

Mom and daughter layouts

Today is time for Kirsten and me to inspire you all with layouts about our mom/daughter.
First out I show you my layout about three generations, my Mom, myself and my daughter.

I often hear people say, you and your daughter look the same. I often recognize myself in my daughters way of beeing and habbit. She's a lot like me as a young girl.

As I get older I often se my mother in my self, often in our body language in photos and in photos of my mother as young I can see the similarity between us.
The title for my layout is "Three generations of love."

Have a nice day!

//Jenny//

Hi everyone, Kirsten here ;-)

The challenge this week is to make a mom and daughter layout.

Honestly I struggled at little with this one, as I only have very few photos of my mom and I. Anyway - here is my take. As you can see I used a photo of me as a baby sitting at my mom's knee. This was the best I could do with this theme.

Hugs,
Kirsten

New Challenge *Mother-Daughter Comparisons*

Happy Sunday!
It's time for a new challenge here at Scrap Yourself.
This week we challenge you to create a layout comparing yourself to your mother, or daughter. I created this layout, "So Who Do I Look Like?"
I decided to use a photo of myself from high school, and compare it to photos of both my mother and father when we were all around the same age.

Hey Azura here with the same challenge..
People always say that when my mom was younger. she looked like me..
I took that as a positive comment..
Together with the looks we share, we also share many common habits and our thinking is somewhat similar..that is the reason why I can just blurt out anything to my mom and I bet to get the right advise from her..Im glad we are close like that! :)

Here is a layout to celebrate US! :)
So, the challenge for you is to create a layout comparing yourself to your mother, or daughter..
I hope you join us in this week's challenge and share with us your story.
OK! Happy Labor Day and keep on Scrapping.. :)
Love; Azura
