Flowers

Hi guys!!

This is my first post for the Scrap Yourself blog and I am SUPER excited to be here!! If you want to know more about me you can read my intro here or visit my blog here. Just wanted to give Chalese an extra special thanks for adding me to the team.
I LOVE to scrap about myself and document me, my thoughts and feelings. I know I would love to have these documentations and photos from my mother, so I assume my children, grandchildren and further generations will treasure these little stories and art too.

So for today I wanted to show you this layout using flowers in mind. I LOVE flowers, I HAVE to have fresh flowers in my house every week. They bring so much life and coziness into my home.

I think flowers are so welcoming and pretty. Tulips are one of my favorite flowers and so I took this photo of me and scrapped it with the beautiful Basic Grey Curio chipboard.

Talk soon!! Happy creating!

MANDY

Hello Friends!

I'm so proud to be a part of the "Scrap Yourself" design team!  It's really unbelievable and a special shout out to Chalese for picking me to be on the team!  The layout I created is called "Mandy".  I wanted to create something that shows my personal style and a few words to describe me.  I figured this layout would be a perfect "START"  for everyone to get to know a little bit about me.  My personal style is about accessorizing (hats, scarves, jewelry, belts, etc.).  This page has many accessory's so it definitely fits me.  I have a mysterious side with an off-beat sense of humor.  My son, husband and pets bring out the playful side in me and of course I have been artsy since childhood. What better place to bring out the artsy side in me!

Thank you for taking a look!  I'm glad you could stop by!

my creative tattoo

hi friends!! holy smokes ~ so ~ SoOoOooOo excited to be here and on the scrap yourself design team!!! seriously scrap yourself is the best place ever!!! chalese, thank you so much for adding me to the team. i needed to be here. true story. it feels so good to create, yes?? but we, {scrappers} are always, like, almost always on the back side of the camera, right?? so we deserve a little time in the lime light,,, if you ask me. think about it, if it werent for us and our cameras in the heat of the moment capturing these memories, our families would have nothing. so i say we deserve to be highlighted and im all in. i love it!!!
although i got this tattoo almost two years ago, i still love it like crazy,,, {i guess thats pretty good huh,,, you know, sense its not going anywhere},,, i love looking at it, and it does inspire me. and it was a fun moment when elsie highlighted my tattoo on the her blog, as well as the red velvet blog. the tattoo is in her handwriting,,, since the tattoo means so much to me and is such a big part of me, not that its a huge tattoo, but you know what i mean,,, anyway, i thought that this would be the perfect subject to start of my design team projects with. do you have any tattoos?? are they creative ones?? wed love to see them, especially scrapped!!!!
thanks again for having me,,, already cant wait for my next post!!!

ME Time

Hello Beautiful People;
Im Azura Alyssa
*if you havent know me yet click here for the intro*
I am very very happy to be here today at Scrap yourself to scrap about myself!! hehe..
Thank you Chalese.

Anyways;
I have a LO to share today and its titled "Me Time"
I am someone who believes in Me time..and I celebrate me time so much that
even those close to me becomes accustomed to this tradition that I called my own.
I believe that one should always separate herself from the hustle and bustle of life to just breathe, clear her mind and just spend some time alone for herself..
I mean you do not have to do anything special during this Me time..
You can stare blankly at the walls, listen to your favourite song, scrap, eat, cook but no sleeping pls-defeats the purpose! haha!
I believe its important to do this..so that we can come back to appreciate the things in life especially our dear self! :)
Take 30mins, an hour or a day..whatever it is you are comfortable with.

Restore the ME in you, recharge and refresh! :)

So, what are you waiting for
Go get some ME time! :)
For more details on the supply list, click here. :)

Do take care and Keep on Scrapping!

Love, Azura

Dream In Color

Happy Wed to you all.....

I am Sarinda and I am so very pleased to be with Scrap Yourself for another term. Thank you.

Color.... Color.... Color....
"I Love Color. All Colors. Yet- for whatever reason Black is my favorite."

A bit about myself:
I am a professional glass artist. Yes, that is right. I make my money from art completely. I have done art my entire life and I was trained in fine art. However, I was never really satisfied with painting and wanted more. Not know WHAT that more was.... I ended up with a art history degree.

Funny thing- I collected marbles since I was a young girl. Not knowing that Glass could have been an option for a career in the arts. I met Dale Chihuly in 2002 for the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. We spoke for a very short time and what I took from the conversation is that I needed to apply to Pilchuck Glass School and have been creating glass art for ten years now.

I still can not take myself away from paper... I love to scrap book as well as spend time in my sketch pad and watercolor.... It always comes full circle.

Thank you for listening and I look forward to being on this wonderful Design Team.
Enjoy Life-!

My first car

I'm so happy to be a part of Scrap your selfs design team for another term.
To day my theme for my layout is about my first car...a metallic blue Volkswagen.
The year was 1994 and I just got my drivings licence, my father loved these Volkswagen so naturally my first car was this blue Volkswagen , that my father got in shape.

With this car I drove to high school, everyday to become a preschool teacher.

Have a nice day!

Dreaming of Vacation

Hi Everyone!
I'm excited to be back at Scrap Yourself for another term! Here in Massachusetts we've been enduring a frigid and snow-filled winter. I can't help but think of my vacation to Punta Cana a few Februarys ago. Looking at my photos from tropical vacations helps to get me through the long winter, and reminds me that summer and sunshine are on the way. What do you do to cheer up when the weather's got you down? :-) Creating this layout, Poolside Parrots, lifted my spirits as I got to relive my time on a wonderful tropical island.

Thanks for stopping by!
Come back tomorrow to see more from the new Design Team!

So This Is Love...

This photo was taken in June 2010. Just before I left to go to a Glass Residency in Lybster, Scotland.

It is funny the things that go through your mind before you leave your family for an extended amount of time. This day was full of giggles and play. The best gift I could have asked for. Grateful-!

Enjoy....

"C & C"

Our youngest son Chris was 18 this week. The weather was cold and snowy and the school board called a snow day. We told him it was a holiday recognizing his milestone. Bob worked late, so Chris and I went to eat at Black Bear Burritos, then posed for a self portrait when we returned home.

Journaling:
"At 18 you are a lot like I was at this age:
You have lots of friends.
You have your own car.
You are social.
You get good grades but don't put a lot of effort into it.
You want to be successful (and will be) though you're not sure what you want to be.
You have caring parents who would never let you down."

Waiting to be ...

Hi Everyone!

I have had so much fun being on the scrap yourself design team, and have metr soe lovely women along the way!

For my last layout, I wanted to finish on with this layout that describes exactly what my life is all about - " Being a mum of three". This pic was taken 2 years ago at the christmas tree farm, hunting for our "perfect" tree. Jake was literally a couple of days from meeting his family!

Although my life is often hectic and super busy, we have a lot of fun, love and laughter in our house and I wouldn't change a thing about my life!

Thankyou for looking, I have had a wonderful time on here and send best wishes to the new team - you will have a blast!

Summer in Seabrook

When I was younger, my family would rent a house and spend the entire summer at Seabrook Beach.
This is a photo of me as a little girl sitting out in the sand dunes behind our house.
October Afternoon's Seaside line worked perfectly for me to carry out my crafty vision.
Did your family have any special summer traditions when you were growing up?

Thanks so much for stopping by.

So everyday I wake up and smell the coffee. Isn't he amazing, he knows what I need.
This layout is about my bad habit....drinking coffee before breakfast.

I have play around with distress Ink, Tim Holtz masks and Catlifepress stamps and some glossy accent.

Full Color

"In the midst of winter, blue skies and foliage are hard to find. So we look for things with color. Here we are visiting a small Ohio city, smiling through cutouts of a forgotten Christmas village."

January 2011

Digital Elements (Journaling Block: Creating Keepsakes) (Grungy Overlay: Michelle Coleman)

I purchased the fiber for this layout on our drive home in another small Ohio town called Beverly. When I called ahead to check on the hours of the store (Scraps of Time), the owner told me she'd be at the nursing home until 11 and would open the store shortly after. When I met Donna Coleman that morning as she toted her box of supplies into the store, I asked her what she did at the nursing home. She said that on the last Monday of every month she went to the home to scrap with the residents. Donna has a group of 5 regular attendees who bring their own pictures and scrap their memories. Isn't that a wonderful thing to do? Proof again that most people who scrap are caring human beings!

Waiting for you!

Hi Everyone!

Here is a layout that I have done on my last pregnancy. This pic was taken 3 days before Jake arrived. Having had three children, each pregnancy was very differerent to the last, so why not do a page on yours?

I know my older ones love looking back in my albums, and are amazed at my pregnancy pics of them growing in my belly!

I have used tattered angels ink on the background, and used a cling wrap roll to get the cirlces on the background.

Have a great week!

Peace and Freedom for Egypt

Many of you have surely been following the events in Egypt on the news over the past week. I am half Egyptian, and have many relatives and friends living in Egypt. During this uncertain and often frightening time, I felt the need to create something hopeful around the topic of Egypt. I entitled this layout "Peace and Freedom for Egypt" as this is what I hope will come out of the current situation. I used Egypt's colors, and an assortment of different photos from my many trips to the country I love.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Please keep Egypt and its wonderful people in your thoughts.
